Christmas Brunch Centerpiece Ideas

Christmas Brunch Centerpiece Ideas

A holiday table set with linen and china is inviting to guests and family alike. You can make your table even more attractive by adding a festive Christmas centerpiece. When planning your centerpiece keep in mind the size and shape of your table. Your centerpiece does not have to be a large item in the middle of the table. You can place small centerpieces down the length of a long table, just at the ends or between items on the buffet. Does this Spark an idea?

Wreath

Many people associate wreaths with Christmas, so incorporate one into your centerpiece. Buy or make a wreath that is a suitable size for your table. You can use boxwood or evergreens such as fir or pine. Decorate the wreath with balls, small ornaments and ribbon to complete the centerpiece. Place a small flower arrangement or low candles in the hollow middle area of the wreath.

Garland

You can make an easy centerpiece with swags. To form the swag, bind together several evergreen branches of a length appropriate to the size of your table. Add decorations or simply place a large bow of Christmas-themed ribbon at the bound end. If your table is large, make two swags and set them end to end or on either side of a candle or other decoration.

Flowers

The classic centerpiece is a flower arrangement. Use a round arrangement for round or square tables and a more linear arrangement for rectangular and oblong tables. Accentuate the flowers with seasonal greens. Keep the arrangement low so that guests can easily see over it.

Fruits and Vegetables

A simple container of whole fresh fruits or vegetables makes an appealing centerpiece. Place the items in a silver, gold, crystal or colored bowl or basket. You can also make an edible centerpiece from carved fruits and vegetables. Use a cookie cutter to cut shapes, put the shapes on skewers and arrange the skewers in an attractive container.

Candles

Candles, either by themselves or as part of an arrangement of greens or flowers, are especially appropriate in a Christmas centerpiece. Place then in a line, a group or a shape such as a circle or oval. The candles can be of varying heights or all the same height, as long as guests can see over them. After you light the candles, show them to best advantage by dimming the light in the room.

Ornaments

A clear container filled with Christmas ball ornaments is a popular decoration at holiday time. You can adapt the idea to make a centerpiece by using a low bowl or a several small ones. Fill the container with ornaments and place on your table.
