How to Decorate a Christmas Buffet Table in Red and White

Whether it's because they are the colors worn by Saint Nick, or because they are the colors of candy canes, red and white are two colors that are commonly associated with Christmas. If you're hosting a Christmas dinner and serving it buffet-style, add some interest to the table by decorating it with elements in a red and white color combination. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    1

Cover the table with a red table covering. Place a white table runner along the center of the white table covering.

    2

Arrange chaffing dishes along the top of the white table runner. In addition to chaffing dishes, fill red and white serving dishes with food and set them out on top of the table runner.

    3

Create piles of dishes in alternating colors of red and white at the beginning of the buffet line. Set out red and white napkins next to the dishes. Use paper, plastic or porcelain dishes; whichever best suits your needs.

    4

Place condiments in red and white bowls; mustard, ketchup, gravy, etc. and set the bowls at the opposite end of the table from the dishes.

    5

Fill a tall cylindrical glass vase with circular red and white peppermint candies. Hang candy canes by their hooks along the edge of the vase. Place the vase in the center of the table between the dishes.

    6

Lay red and white Christmas ornaments around the bases of the chaffing dishes and next to some of the other serving dishes.

    7

Scatter red glitter along the surface of the white table runner to add a shimmering effect to the table.
