How to Make Homemade Party Decorations for Christmas

Hosting a Christmas party rich with beautiful homemade holiday decor, delicious food and wonderful friends is a delightful way to rejuvenate yourself during the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season. It will force you to remember all of the important things you are blessed to have in your life, such as family, friends and neighbors. Making your own Christmas party decorations is an economical way to save money on party supplies and bring the spirit of the season home. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

Christmas Centerpiece

    1

Spray-paint some magnolia leaves or pine cones with gold paint. Allow them to dry.

    2

Set the magnolia leaves or pine cones onto a flat, rectangle-shaped tray. This will create a bed for your ornaments.

    3

Place several round Christmas ornaments onto the tray. These should match your other party decor; for instance, if your theme is red, gold and green, you should use red ornaments.

    4

Spray-paint some interestingly shaped twigs, sprigs of berries or acorns with the gold spray paint. Arrange them around the ornaments after they dry.

Stocking Table Decor

    5

Draw a 4- or 5-inch stocking shape onto red felt and cut it out. You will need two identical stockings for each place setting. Alternately, you can buy miniature Christmas stockings at discount and dollar stores for very low prices.

    6

Glue the stockings together by placing glue around the edges of one of the cutouts and placing it onto another one. Allow the glue to dry.

    7

Embellish your stocking by painting your last name's initial on each one.

    8

Decorate the top or toe area of each stocking on one side with rickrack or holiday-themed ribbon. You can also use faux gems, glitter glue or Christmas stickers.

    9

Insert forks, knives and spoons into each stocking and place them near each dinner plate for a festive holiday decoration.
