How to Remove Scratches From a Glass Table Top

Glass tabletops can be beautiful; however, like any other regularly used piece of furniture, they can be marred by scratches from cleaning and other general use. Although a deep scratch will have to be removed by a professional, there is something you can do to repair some of the little blemishes that result from day-to-day use. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    1

Spray the glass thoroughly with glass cleaner and dry it with a lint-free cloth.

    2

If possible, remove the glass from the table and lay it on a secure, flat surface.

    3

Apply a gently abrasive compound like white toothpaste (do not use gel) to the scratch.

    4

Gently rub the toothpaste in a circular motion over the scratch.

    5

Wash off the toothpaste and check the glass from time to time. If the glass seems to be getting cloudy at all, stop the process.

    6

Be prepared for polishing out the scratch (depending on its depth) can take some time. However, if the blemish doesn't seem to be improving, it is time to call a professional glass buffer.
