Your new baby's nursery should have a safe and convenient place to change diapers and outfits. A baby changing station must be stable and should be placed at the right height for the parent's convenience. Finally, it must should provide enough space to keep the necessary items that maybe required during a change.
Instructions
- 1
Ensure the rolling cart you have chosen is the right height. You will have to change a number of diapers every day. Thus, it should not be too high or low for your comfort. Also, ensure the rolling cart is large enough to hold the baby and store basic necessities.
2Remove the wheels of the rolling cart so that it will firmly stand in one place and not move.
3Cut the cardboard to fit the top of the cart. Cover the cardboard and padding with a piece of fabric to hide the rough look. Tuck the edges under the sides of the cardboard and staple the edges with a staple gun.
4Place the cardboard on the tabletop and then put the changing pad on top of the padded cardboard.
5Decorate the station with colorful toys to make it easy to distract the baby during diaper changes.
6Fill the wicker or bamboo basket with basic baby changing necessities like wipes, napkins, creams, lotions, diapers, pins and powder. Keep an extra set of diapers, nappies, socks and clothes change for the baby in the basket, too.
7Place the basket where it is safe and cannot be knocked over by the baby. This could be either at the head of the changing table or under the platform for storage.
8Place a thrash can close to the changing station or below the changing station if there is space for easy disposal of diapers.
